SOME MORE COFFEE

Notes from one kitchen

What's actually worth pouring in the morning

I write down how every cup tastes, so I stop re-buying capsules I didn't like and can tell, honestly, whether the fancy method really beats pressing a button.

Started September 2026. The first batch of notes is typed up from a paper notebook I kept over the summer.

Tastings

Capsule versus AeroPress

Nespresso Original vs Vertuo

One brand, two different coffees. Why the Vertuo cup is bigger and foamier, and why I still reach for the Original for espresso.

AeroPress: the recipe I use

Inverted, 15 g to 200 g water at 85 °C, ninety seconds. What changed when I stopped following the instructions on the box.

Starbucks capsules, honestly

Pike Place, House Blend and Espresso Roast in the Original machine. One of the three I'd buy again.

One coffee, two methods

The fairest test I could set up: a refillable capsule and the AeroPress on the same beans. The result surprised me.
